Klenovica is a small and peaceful locality situated only a little bit south of the much more «vivacious» riviera and towns of Crikvenica, Selce, Novi Vinodolski. Scantily inhabited strech of shore in the foot of the mountain of Velebit, which is over 100km long, starts exactly here. Klenovica is surely a destionation to be recommended to those searching for places where they could wake up to the birds'singing. There are several restaurants, bars and shops in Klenovica as well as the post office, camp, petrol station so one can just park the car and not use it till the end of the holidays. Should one happen to miss crowded places so typical of the summer, it will be enough to visit the town of Crikvenica, only 20km away.
There, one can join numerous swimmers on the Central (sandy) beach or take a walk along the town quay and visit bars open late into the night.
Klenovica is an area extremly rich in fish. It is something not unknown to dolphins either that, with a bit of luck, can be seen in the area.
Swans have been Klenovica's regular visitors for years – probably the only place at which they live in the sea.
Restaurants in Klenovica offer delicious fish dishes -
they even have their own fishing-boats.
It is recommended to spare a day or two for a trip to the inland; after climbing for only 20 minutes you will find a genuine alpine landscape at the altitude of 1.000m. «Bjelolasica» ski resort is situated at only 40km of a straight line from Klenovica.
A visit to the Plitvice Lakes is also highly recommended.
